eTickets.to have launched what they say is the first totally self-service e-ticketing system for event promoters. Ticketing is crucial and usually frustrating element of any event promotion. Event promoters generally face the option of turning to a ticketing agent to provide their solution, landing their customers with a hefty booking fee, and leaving the promoter waiting for their money or going to the significant expense of printing and distributing their own tickets.

Now there’s an alternative solution. Using the simple web-based eTickets.to service any event promoter can set up an account and be selling e-tickets for their event within 5 minutes. The promoter gets the ticket money directly from the customer, paid into their PayPal or credit card merchant account and they simply pay a small (£0.60) fee to eTickets.to for each ticket that is actually sold. The promoter can set their own booking fees, so they retain total control over the end cost to customers.

The entire process is electronic, with tickets delivered instantly by email, so there’s no expensive postage and nothing to get lost (eTickets can be reissued securely in seconds). Event promoters simply download a list of sales and validate each ticket’s security code as the guests arrive (like running a guest list).

eTickets.to does not impose any minimum fees so it’s suitable for any size of event. Clients during the test phase ranged from small club nights to the 45,000 capacity Exit Festival in Serbia. All transaction data belongs to the promoter, so they don’t have to share their valuable customer data with a third party agent that may also be acting for their competitors.

eTickets.to was founded by Matt McNeill, who also founded Sign-Up Technologies, the company behind Sign-Up.to, the highly successful email and mobile marketing system.

Matt explains ‘The idea for eTickets.to came about when I realised how often I was being charged unjustifiable booking fees for ordering tickets for events. I thought that there must be a better way and we think we’ve found it. Now the promoter has total control of the ticketing process, and the consumer can benefit from lower ticket costs.’

Event promoters anywhere in the world can set up an eTickets.to account at www.etickets.to
