Audeon has released the first Mac OS X beta version (b0.9) of their flagship software synthesizer UFO (Unique Filters and Oscillators).
UFO is a software synthesizer built upon Audeon's proprietary TransModal
Synthesis technology. Its oscillator model is controlled by perceptual
attributes such as Periodicity, Brightness, Noisiness or Chaos, etc, lying
on 2D controllers. Programming a sound simply consists of balancing these
attributes by placing dots on the controllers, and modulating them
graphically by drawing arrows. The hundreds of simultaneous possible
modulations offer unparalleled expressivity, while the very intuitive user
interface makes sound programming particularly easy.
For more information about the known issues of this first Mac OS X beta
version, please refer to the "read me" when installing the software. The
Windows version is already shipping and costs $139/€125. Both are VST
instruments.
Preset Contest: the preset contest originally scheduled to end on June 12th
is extended until June 30th so Mac users also get a chance to participate.
The best preset author will be awarded a free UFO license. For more info
about the contest, please refer to our preset submission page.
UFO can be downloaded for free from Audeon's web site www.audeon.fr. A Windows demo version is also available for PC users.
