Hi there. I am completely new to the world of music software, and honestly don't know a thing about it. My boyfriend currently dabbles a bit with Garage on his brother's Mac, and really enjoys it. Needless to say, Christmas is coming and I thought I could get him a music software programme of his own, albeit one for the PC. Is there anything similar to Garage available for the PC, and what would you recommend? He doesn't really have any musical experience but has 'creative aspirations', so a programme that isn't too limited in what it can achieve would be great.
I appreciate any and all advice, thanks alot! |

| Personally I have used Rebirth, Cakewalk, and a few others. The one I have managed to like over all others has been FruityLoops, My buds and I compiled a cd of things we have created from it. It's not very difficult to use but does require some kind of creativity. It is similar to garage but still far from. I used garage and enjoyed it. Too bad I am strictly PC. |

| Your best bet for PC is Sony Acid, it's about the closest thing to Garageband on a pc. |
