I'm using a free midi sequncer (Frieve Music Studio Producer) with VSTi support. Problem is that the songs doesn't run smoothly when I use VSTi sounds. Is it my computer that's to slow? I'm using a Pentim II, 400 Mhz.

If so, is there anything I can adjust to get a better result?

That is a slow processor for running VST Instruments, however performance is going to be effected by many things including:
- RAM, get as much as you can- at least 256MB
- Motherboard, i'm guessing yours is limited due to it's likely age
- Operating Sytem, depending on your version of Windoze cleaning up your system directory can help a lot

On the other hand, if you're serious about making music perhaps it's time to get a new computer - it can be more cost effective than trying to upgrade an older one with it's built in limitations due to RAM limits, slow motherboard, slow disk etc etc etc.....

Thanks man for the advice. At least it's comforting to know what's the problem. I'll try to 'clean up' up the system as much as I can. But I should get a new computer, definitely.
